That did not go well

I'm cruising along early today, rating as high as 1280 on ICC and feeling like I'm making progress. Then I went into what can only be described as a funk. 3.5/21 playing more or less my own level of players, dropping down so far that I threatened to go below 1100 before a small rally.

My head was just not in a good place. I don't think I went 50 moves all night without hanging a piece or ignoring an obvious fork. I was trying to play "deeper" chess where I didn't just go for attacks that a higher-level player would easily avoid, even if the attack might work at my level. But instead, I just got myself all out of whack.

No game-posting for the moment, I just wrote this really quick to get myself away from the boards for the night. I guess sometimes you just aren't quite in the right frame of mind for chess and you have to accept it.

End of night rating change: 1280>1125
